dejock 0 Posted October 22, 2008 I had lap-band in January of 2008. I immediately lost 40 pounds but have not lost any more weight since March. I have been adjusted several times and have reduced my caloric intake dramatically. I am not exercising. I start each morning with a Protein Shake. I don't eat anything all day. Then I eat a small dinner. I know I need to exercise but does anyone have any other advice for me. I am frustrated and I feel like I am failing again. Please help. Scorpyian1 0 Posted October 22, 2008 Odd as it sounds, you are NOT eating enough. You are slowing your metabolism down to a crawl! You have to eat, and you have to exercise -- that is the long and short of it. The lap band is only a tool, and you have to work with it. I"m sure you know that already, I'm just stating that so you get back to square one. Have an appt. with your dietician immediately. Explain to him/her what you have here and listen to their suggestions. You body needs some fuel to live on -- if you won't feed it, it will get its fuel from your muscles, which also are integral in keeping your metabolism stoked. I hope this helps. Loseweightin08 0 Posted October 22, 2008 Hello, I think there are a couple of things that could be causing your stall....Number 1 you are not getting enough calories or Protein in....your metabolism slows down and tries to store everything...Next you do need to exercise....I will never love exercise, but I know I have to do it....it will help boost your metabolism...I try to make it fun....I bought a polar heart rate monitor watch and it calculates my heart rate and how long I exercise, and how long I was in my heart rate zone and calories burnt...that really helps! Don't get discouraged, just try to eat right and start exercising even if you start with a walk around the block. Good Luck:)
