Hi All, I was just banded on 10/13 my doc placed the port in the center right below my breast line. Today it is very uncomfortable it feels as if it has moved. I noticed my wired bra tends lay on that area when I am sitting down. I started back to work on 10/20 and am sitting about 8+ hours a day and it about drove me crazy today. Has any one else had this problem?

I was banded in March 2008 and had to have my port repositioned in 9.08. I am doing great now. I had no pain or anything that triggered me to think there was a problem. I went in for a fill and my doc could not find the port. Needless to say it was turned sideways so it had to be repositioned. I would say get it check to make sure it is still in place. You may just be a bit swollen.

Mine is on my bra line, I have been using gel sheets for scars, so maybe try that and that way you'll have minimal scars and no irritation from bra.

Where do you get gel sheets for scars? I never hear of them. Good idea though, thanks

Hey all! I was banded 10/8/08. I have been feeling incrediable, but today I am having some port pain. I am not sure where this has come from. Did any of you find that a few weeks later that the nerves started getting back in gear? Or is this something that I should start getting worries about?

Do you mean you felt good then started having some pain again??? If that's what you mean then yes. I was banded 9-25 & today & yesterday my port area has been a bit soar. :w00t:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
