bethm 0 Posted October 21, 2008 Hi Everyone, Wanted to say hello! I found the forums about a month ago and have found them a great source of inspiration, support and information. I live in Massachusetts and I'm 41 years old. My doctor is Dr Adam Glasgow in Norwood MA and I really like him alot. I have had just one on one with him and he has a very down to earth, likeable aura about him. I've gone through all my tests except a 2nd sleep study test to be fitted for a mask (I am so nervous about this.) My surgery is scheduled for December 11th. I am SO excited and committed to use the lapbad to the utmost advantage and get myself healthy, happy and looking good. Nice to meet you all  Beth
Sue Magoo 71 Posted October 21, 2008 Hi Beth: Dr. Adam Glasgow is my doctor too. Best wishes to you in your lap band journey. I think that you'll find that both Drs. Glasgow are skilled and caring and they truly seem to get pleasure from the success of their banded patients. Maybe I'll see you at support group sometime. Best wishes to you in your lap band journey. Feel free to ask any questions. Sue
IMhopeful 0 Posted October 22, 2008 Hi Everyone, Beth, best of luck on your surgery it would be great to share stories in this process. :grouphug: When I had my sleep study they fit me for a mask right then, in fact they even came in and had me wear it for a time. Honestly, I didn't get my machine but I've been told recently that I should. The worst of it is just getting used to it, I've a several opions ranging from a day to 2 weeks to get used to wearing the mask. I'm 38 years old, live in Foxboro and I'm awaiting surgery. My doctor is Dr. Daniel Jones at the Beth Isreal. I have my last pre-op test on Friday. Due to scheduling I will have my one to one meeting with Dr. Jones in November. I had chosen him after meeting him at the information seminars at the hospital. I started this process after having a severe medical wake up call. I had a major "cardiac episode" in July '07. Obviously I'm nervous, but at the same time I'm excited, and very hopeful. I have an unbelievably supportive family which helps so much. Now I'm looking to this site to increase my support system, with others who have been where I am currently. It would be great to hear from everyone and your own experiences.
