Has anyone lost a great deal of weight and not had problems with saggy skin? I am 31, 5' 6", weight 230 lbs, and I am really worried about saggy skin after losing weight from the band. My surgery is Nov. 18th. I'm wondering if I should ask my doctor to restrict me only enough where I can average about a pound a week of weight loss. I have seen many people lose weight and then they have to have cosmetic surgery to remove the excess skin. I'm just wondering how many success stories are out there where skin has not sagged after weight loss, so please share out if you have one...AND please also share if you have had trouble with saggy skin after weight loss...I would like to know how fast you lost it and if you think the speed in which you lost it has anything to do with how saggy the skin can get. On the show, "The Biggest Loser" some contestants have no flabby skin after their dramatic weight loss and some do (when they wave good-bye it's really noticeable, if know what I mean). I'm getting my band to improve my health and it's worth saggy skin, but if there is a way to avoid it, then I want to explore that for sure...thanks for your reply posts and good luck to all!!!

Hi! I can't talk from experience (I'm only 6 weeks and 38 pounds down at this point) but I can tell you what both my family doctor and surgeon said. I am 40 years old and have good skin (kinda strange but people say to me, wow, your skin is so nice!) Anyway, I was told by both doctors that they don't expect me to have any loose skin because of my age (and I'm older than you) and my skin tone. So, I guess we'll see when I start hitting a lot of pounds lost. I wish you the best of luck and, believe me, this was the best thing I ever did for my health!

Hello,

I weighed about 225 when I got my surgery on July 1, 2008 and am down 45 lbs. I dont have very much loose skin. I am walking twice a day for 45 min to 1 hour and trying very hard to stay up with the Protein so that you dont lose muscle and it has worked for me. I am 45 years old and I am extremely happy with my results. I really think that exercise is the key.

I had the surgery two years ago and weighed 210 and have been at 140 for over 1yr. I only have a small amount of saggy skin on my lower belly. I became much more active (mostly because I felt like it..no more sore feet or breathing problems) and I think that helped some. If you have had children, that may be the main reason for the saggy skin, the fat just had it filled in before. Good luck...this will be the best thing you ever did for yourself and your family!!!

I started at 235, and am at 164, 5'3". It has been a year since my weight loss journey began. I did not notice any loose skin until I was at the 50 pounds mark. Then, it all seemed to happen at once. I have the tummy, I have the 'bat-wing arms' and I have some issues with sagging on my thighs. My doc told me that because of the amount of weight lost, there is definetely a potential for saggy skin, even when losing weight slowly. It kinda sucks, but I look better saggy, rather than OBESE. And BTW, I am only 32.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
