Babe 0 Posted October 20, 2008 From all the research I've done, i know that LB has great weight loss results initially. But I'm wondering about it's long term effect... have people been able to maintain their weight loss for a sustained amount of time (after you've reached goal or become happy with your weight)? TerriDoodle 6 Posted October 20, 2008 I've maintained 182 for about a year with no problem. It's not my preferred weight, but the weight my BODY prefers! The band is a wonderful tool to help you lose and maintain weight loss, but there certainly are ways to eat around it if you so desire! Milk shakes go down super easy! Jachut 487 Posted October 20, 2008 I've been between 150 to 155 for a bit over a year now.
gentylwind 1 Posted October 20, 2008 I think most of the people with long term success are not on the Internet..they are off living their lives. My ex-MIL (still friends) has maintained a 125 lb weight loss with the band for over five years now. I am optimistic.
kgloverii 0 Posted October 20, 2008 The statistics for long term weight maintenance with the band are quite good. That is what attracted me to the band.

mss 1 Posted November 20, 2008 I was banded just over a year ago and while not yet at goal (but it finally is in sight) I have kept off everything that I have lost. Even when I was having problems with my fill levels which went on for almost two months I still didn't regain any weight. for me this has always been the biggest battle in the past.... I would lose weight and then it would start creeping back on one kilo at a time.
lapbandtalker 0 Posted November 20, 2008 It's been almost a year and I teeter between 137 and 142 pounds. Next year I hope to say It's been 2 years!
