KimberlyJ 0 Posted October 19, 2008 (edited) Hi, I am 3 weeks post op and feel like I am obsessing already about Protein and making sure I eat enough of it. Had my surgery on military base and they really didn't explain things very well. I am really tired and still sore. Is this normal? I really could use a friend to answer questions, help with foods to eat and just keep me from going crazy! lol... Little more about myself.... I am 43, I don't work right now, but would like to go back in the future, when I lose some more weight. I love to play bing and pogo and of course go watch my daughter at marching band. My husband is Air Force almost 20yrs in. I would love to chat with anyone who wants to not just a mentor. Thanks Kim Edited October 19, 2008 by KimberlyJ more info

wintobethin 5 Posted April 1, 2009 Hi Kim, I too was banded by WPAFB on Jan 16,09. I live down around Franklin. I am not working at this time. I agree with you about info at WPAFB, I don't even know what type of band and how big it is?? I had my first fill in March and I am starving more now than before the fill, not sure what that is about. I go back next Monday for second fill, hopefully I will feel some restriction!!! I have lost around 30 lbs since pre-op and doing okay but just have to watch amount of food since I feel like I could sit down and eat as much as I wanted, scary..... My husband is retired AF and had 25 years in. Fourteen years out in the civilian world. We sure miss the military life...Have one son and one granddauther. I sing with an International Chorus over in Centerville on Tuesday nights, we have a lot of fun and heading to competition in Oct, 09. Take care and hope to hear from you....Jan
09hotmama 0 Posted April 2, 2009 Kim I was also banded at the base. You need to ask many question and research everything for yourself. I think the doctors at the base are wonderful. I would have to say the only bad thing is that they change appt. after i had made it. I hope that the band works for you.
sweetbean70 2 Posted April 3, 2009 Hi Kim! I live in Newark, OH (about 1 hour east of Columbus). I have not had my surgery yet. I am going for my orientation meeting at Mt Carmel West on April 8 and have a PCP appt on the 14th for bloodwork. I am a self-pay, so I should hopefully get all my ducks in a row quickly and have my procedure by the beginning of this summer. That is unless I have to have more testing than what I thought I would need. My mother is also having the lap band surgery, but her procedure is being paid by Medicare. We are hopeing to be able to have the surgery at the same time. Good luck w/ your recovery and I hope we can stay in touch.
