BJean, don't go into the light! Look away! Remember that you are a lap band talker not a poser.

A lap band talker comes for wls support and may post on a controversial thread for recreation.

A poser only posts on controversial threads. There is no lap band talk left in them!

How can you spot a poser ? If their last 130-140 posts were to political or controversial threads not only have they gone into the light, they are the gate keeper.

BJean, I know its hard not to respond to some of the 10_1_138.gifstuff that gate keepers post. But, it's all part of an intricate plot to change your focus from wl support. I am right here with you girl. I struggle to remain silent sometimes.

Now promise me that you will not get too sucked in. Promise? OK Good.

Don't worry, many here are no doubt repelled by the light. That's why they go into the dark.

Guess they've seen the bumper sticker: Come over to the dark side. We've got candy. :cool2:

aa: What's a poser? Your explanation is kinda weird.

You're monitoring people's posts? Oh my what's that about?

Not that you asked, but just so's you'll know... I have had my band for 2 years. For over 2 years I have read and posted about the good and bad, the problems and successes of trying to get and having a Lap Band. Personally I have reached a point where my band and I are one with the universe. Umkay?

Here's my post to you regarding the Lap Band: Congratulations on your 21 lb. weight loss! Keep up the good work!

Feel all better now?

Beth, when I was kid, if someone in the group passed gas the first person that spoke up would get teased "first one smelled it is the the first one that dealt it!"

I may have it all wrong, but I think she's referring to me. :cool2:

I don't have my band yet, so I don't have a lot to talk about it at this point. And I like debating politics. Hell, we only have about 36 hours more. Very soon the damage will be done no matter which way it goes.

Bjean, its's unfortunate that you took my post in the wrong way. I was not calling YOU a poser. I actually agree with most of your posts. I was just commenting on how one can be provoked to respond to some of the nonsense that is posted on these threads. Very unfortunate that you misinterpreted what I was trying to communicate...

That'll teach me to keep quiet.

aa: sorry I misinterpreted your post. I'm so used to everybody attacking me, I find myself always on the defense.

Except for green - she's very good at not attacking people. And her definition of socialism is exactly what I was taught in school. It is for that reason that the constant use of the word by Republicans is so irritating. You can't bastardize a word like socialism and expect people to agree with your use of it.

Carry on aa, you're doing much better than I did when exchanging viewpoints with Beth.

I have a feeling even after the elections are over and done with that there is still going to be a lot of blabbing about who won, who didn't win...why this person should have won, didn't etc. And the people who disagree with who won will find more 'facts' or stuff on the internet and try to say how they shouldn't have won etc...I am sure there will still be plenty of political chatter...plenty plenty.

No doubt about it froggi. We can all hope though that the election is won by a wide margin, whoever wins it, so that the elected person will have a clear mandate about what Amerians think is the right path for this nation.

Bjean: it's cool.

I disagree with Beth politically. As a matter of fact she pisses me off most of the time, but she knows how to laugh at a corny joke! It helps that most of mine are corny...

Beth: be ye forewarned- if you start talking that socialist, arab, terrorist crap I will no longer be your new bff! BTW, may I offer you something to drink? Kool-aid perhaps?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
