Has anyone heard of any doctors doing the lap band over a verticle sleeve surgery? My doctor and I are thinking of doing it, but i am concerned with possible slippage.

I've never heard of that, but I assume the sleeve gastrectomy didn't work for you....have you thought of the duodenal switch? Just an idea...

Well there are many types of bypass, Roux-en-Y is the one most people think of as bypass, but it's all surgery.

Anyway it was just a thought; I'm sure you and your doctor will come up with a plan for you!

I'm not really sure how it would benefit you. A sleeve is a restrictive procedure, a band is a restrictive procedure. If you didn't do well with one, why would you do well with a 2nd?

I know it can be done in theory, but I don't know anyone who has actually done it and I'm also not sure what it will add to the process.

Did you get an older sleeve with a much larger boughie and now you can eat a lot? If so, the band might help. But if your stomach is as small as mine, then I don't see how it can help.

I really think that a larger percentage of my stomach was left rather than taken! When I saw the picture afterwards, it did not seem like much was taken. I was thinking that if enough was taken, it would almost be impossible to put a band on it. It would simply slide down...but evidently my doctor must see enough of my stomach to band. I was even thinking of asking him to redo the verticle sleeve, but think the band would be better. Did I mention my sister and I had our surgeries the same day. We both weighed the same. I had the sleeve, she had the band and she is now twenty pounds lighter then me. And no, she does not count calories nor does she excersise! WOW!

The first half of your weight loss can be pretty effortless but the 2nd half takes some work. Are you eating solid Proteins first? Not drinking with meals? Cutting back on carbs? Exercising? You'll have to do the same with a band as a sleeve.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
