Chicken-Spinach salad

I got this recipe from Georgia Girl...I lived off it on mushies (just used the food processor), now it is great as is or on crackers:

3 TBS Tostidos Spinach Dip

1 Can All-White meat chicken

Mix ingredients and eat. Refrigerate after making. According to Daily Plate this has about 130 calories/15 grams of Protein a serving.

Orange Fluff

One cup lowfat cottage cheese

one cup SF cool whip

one cup mandarin oranges (packed in Water with Splenda)

SF FF orange Jello mix to taste

Mix cottage cheese and cool whip, adding more of either to get to whatever consistency you like, then add the Jello mix a bit at a time until it is the right amount of 'orange-y' for you.

then mix in mandarin oranges and enjoy. I eat this several times a week and it is so good.

You can try cherry jello and marischino cherries. I didn't like it as much, but to eat his own! There are tons of possible combinations.

Hi Leslie: I was banded with the realize band on December 3, 2008. So far I have lost 23 pounds but I am afraid I may have gain some weight because I had an allergic reaction and had to have a steroid shot. I started the mushies a little early. Since the surgery, I have a hard time acquiring a taste for the Protein shakes.

Were you able to eat whole grain crackers during the mushie stage without any problems? Right now, I am kind of stuck on cheese eggs and cheese grits with lowfat cheese. The weather has not been favorable, so I have not been able to exercise like I want to.

Do you have any suggestions that would help during the mushie stage? I will return to the doctor for my first fill on December 30, 2008. I pray that I have not gained any weight. My doctor is not very lenient and I am trying hard to lose the weight. Within 2 months, I would love to have lost another 25 or 30 pounds or even more.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
