I had my second fill during TOM and I had absolutely no problem.

I can't eat hardly anything before and during my cycle. I have learned the hard way. So I have made a personal decision NOT to have my fills during this time. I have some friends on another thread who also have trouble eating during "TOM". Do you have trouble while TOM is visiting? If you do, don't get your fill at that time.

I haven't had my TOM since banding. I am due next week, just like you. I am also due for my fill next week, just like you. I can only hope that neither of us have trouble! I guess we both had better take it slow to avoid sliming or PBing.

I really don't think it will matter much with the first fill. They put very little in the first time. After that, it might be a problem.

slim, you won't notice much of a difference with the first fill. (I know because we have the same doctor and he doesn't put much in the first time). I have had 3 fills and they have all been around my TOM and I have had no problems. I guess it is different for everyone.

I do not think it matters , I had my fill this Sunday and it was that TOM , but the good news is that since i was banded a month ago I had two cycles ... which I never had before before starting to lose weight which shows that my body is starting to get normalized .... :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
