Only 5 pounds in almost 2weeks since I was banded does'nt sound very good any suggestions? Here's my menu for the day-breakfast 1/2of cream of wheat and 8oz of my Protein Drink and for lunch cream of something Soups and Water throughout and then for supper the rest of my broth 1/4 cup Jello if the and sfree of couse!Than the rest of my Protein drink I usually get in 60-64 oz of protein in a day. Than to save me at night even though I'm not hungry I have a sfree fudgepop or fruitbar sfree. Any thing else I can do you can tell I'm losing maybe it's just inches once again I see the doctor on Thursday. Thanks just an a HURRY to start losing!!!!!!!!!!!!:smile2:

I have found the lapband is not a FAST process -- slow and steady.

 I personally count calories and carbs as well as the Proteins.

Best wishes!

I have found the lapband is not a FAST process -- slow and steady.

I absolutely agree with that! I only lost 7 lbs the first month--but now I'm 9 months out and 52 lbs down--i've lost 22% and am now officially overweight!!(29.8 BMI!!!)--that fits the 1-2 lbs per week--even with the couple of plateaus i have hit

Stop setting unrealistic goals for yourself...5 pounds in 2 weeks is a very good, very healthy weight lose. This is a journey that will last a really long time that will have its ups and downs...learn from both the positive and the negative.

And for GOD sakes....THROW OUT THAT scale, it is obviously drivng you crazy.

You should be celebrating not complaining. I applaude you on a great weight lose.

So how many calories and carbs do you do at first? Or is something to ask the doc! Thanks for reply

not to exceed 1200 calories and 135 carbs

at least 105 gr of Protein and try to get 25 gr of Fiber

minimal 64 oz Water - goal is 96 oz

This is what "I" use -- but definetly ask your doctor or nutritionist. (let me know what they say!)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
