New from Tennessee!

Hello, my name is Jenn and I am 26 years old from TN. I am just starting this process and doing a lot of research. I have an appointment with my PCP next week to get a referral to a surgeon. I have struggled with my weight for years, currently I am at my highest, 334 lbs. I have PCOS, insulin resistance, and sleep apnea. I am absolutely terrified, but I know I have to do this. I have a beautiful 3 year old boy that I want to be around to see grow up! I am looking forward to spending time here and learning more!

Welcome and congrats on taking the 1st steps towards your new life! I have PCOS/insulin resistance as well, which made it really hard for me to lose weight without the band. Good luck!

Hi, I am in Tennessee also. You have come to a great place for information. I also have PCOS and insulin resistance. I haven't taken any medicine for it since the day before my surgery. Hi Jenn, you are in the same stages as I am. I have seen my pcp and go to my first seminar tommorow the 14th. There I will find out what I will have to do for insurance, etc. But I have been on here for 2 months now just reading an going to chat room and reading what is going on in there. It did alot of good being here because it has made me so relaxed about haveing this done and someone will always answer your questions.
