the best me 6 Posted June 30, 2005 Well done Jen! You got down below 200 in a jiffy! I got myself stuck at 208 after a start weight of 223. So I'm still struggling to get into Onerderland...I'm so jealous! Yeeehaw for you!!!
giveyouthemoon 4 Posted June 30, 2005 Yay you!!! I was banded a week after you. You are amazing to me! You went back to work so fast!! I took this full week off and I'm SO exhausted! I worry how I'll do back at work being so gosh darn tired. Congrats on your success so far. I've lost 11 pounds since surgery and it kind of scares me to lose weight this fast! Yikes! mousecrazy 2 Posted June 30, 2005 Is it common practice to get appetite suppressants after band surgery? No one's mentioned it before...remember, I'm really new, so if this is something everyone knows, I am ready to be informed! Congrats on how well you are doing! Jen 0 Posted July 1, 2005 Thanks Guys!! I am really excited! Cathy- My doc wants me on liquids for a month and knowing how hard that is with the minimal restriction I have ( no fill yet) his patients have much better success if they take them. Honestly - they have amade all the difference - They are much more mild than even the dexitrim and stupid herbal crap Ive taken before. However, they totally work - ALL DAY! They just take the edge off. Jen
the best me 6 Posted July 1, 2005 Hey Jen, what's the name of your appetite supressant? Just curious. I thought I'd never have to worry about all that again, but I agree, it may help on those high stress days, and especially as I'm waiting on a fill. I might have it in my med cabinet!! I'd love to know the name of it if you don't mind...thanks!
Madeline's mom 0 Posted July 1, 2005 Kathy, I used to go to a diet clinic and they prescribed Phentermine (Adipex or Ionamin ). I will take one every once in a while if I feel my eating is getting out of hand. It does help. There are several other kinds also all falling in the same class. Phendimetrazine, diethypropion and mazindol.
