I really need this done.. but have no medical insurance and below average credit..

Recommended Posts

I have been wanting to get a lap-band since the day that i heard of them. My BMI is 39.5 and i have sleep apnea, extremely high blood pressure, and asthma. As of now, i have no medical insurance and my credit is below average. Does anyone know of a financing company that will accept below average credit? I would get insurance, but i dont want to wait only to be denied. I will finance if i can, i just dont know who to go through. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Right now credit is really tight. Can you clean up your credit? That would help you.

Jessica:

Can you get a job that offers medical insurance?

Good luck.

Im 19 years old. I've been on my own since i was 16. I live by myself, i work security (11 bucks an hour), and my job does offer health insurance but from what i have heard from my coworkers, it covers virtually nothing. I'm trying to pay my way through ASU. I'm still paying out of state tuition which runs me approximately 22 thousand a year. I have student loans out, so i think thats why i cant get approved for anything. The payments are deferred until i graduate, but i still cant seem to get approved for anything, and i have no one to cosign for me. Care credit declined me already. Ive tried everything- dieting, curves, weight watchers, gyms - and nothing seems to work for me. Im running out of options :smile2:

I waited till I was 55 to have it done. Wish I had done it long ago, even though I am not having the weight loss I hoped for , I think it will come off eventually. thanks

I use to work for a credit repair company and if you want to email me I can go over the basics with you. Its something you CAN do on your own and very easy. A lot of people don't know how to do it that's why lots of people pay for it.

Check with your insurance and make sure it doesn't cover WLS. Even though others say it's crappy, find out for yourself. You might be surprised.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
