And as far as the medic alert thing goes, my surgeon recommended getting one. They give their patients a pretty comprehensive booklet on what to expect before, during and after, and this was in the special discharge instructions....there have been some pretty good points made here....the NG tube is a case in point. Old Goat 0 Posted November 22, 2008 Hi acadiamom: Did not see your post till today but I was on liquids for 2 days be for Surgery. Now as for my Surgery it went real well for me. I did spend the night in the Hospital my choice. I am home no shoulder pain or gas pain and scheduled for staple removal 11-26. ~MyNewLife~ 0 Posted December 3, 2008 My Doctor did give me two cards and one does say what size band I have and at the bottom it does state that this person cannot eat put small portions of food.
