stevegoad 32 Posted October 30, 2008 In Texas, there have been e-mails and phone calls sent, telling people that if they want to vote straight democratic tickets, they still need to vote seperately for Obama - the e-mails say it is necessary. But by voting straight ticket, and then voting a specific name, it deletes that vote. Note: This was voted on KTRH Radio in Houston, a very admittedly conservative talk radio station. Their admission that such tactics from people on the republican side is a difficult thing for a FOX owned station. So it goes both ways. It is not just democrats. I didn't read anything in the Indianapolis article that said anything other than that they didn't clean the rolls well. Really, do we need another thread to sling mud into the process? MacMadame 81 Posted October 30, 2008 It's not slinging mud to point out that process is broken. It has to be fixed. We don't want to be one of those countries where no one has any confidence in the elections and I think we're getting closer and closer. In my county, we have electronic machines. I'm okay with that. But there is NO evidence you have voted. The polling people could just forget to swipe your card, either by accident or on purpose, and you'd never know. As a computer person, who has designed systems that require checks and balances, I am just appalled. They need to swipe it and a receipt pops out that you get as a basic, bare minimum.
