I'M HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING ENOUGH IN MY SYSTEM EVERY DAY.

I WAS BANDED ON THE 29TH OF AUGUST AND HAVEN'T YET HAD A FILL BUT I CAN'T SEEM TO EAT meat. TRIED FISH BUT UNLESS IT'S IN A SAUCE I CAN'T GET MORE THAN A COUPLE OF BITES DOWN AND THEN IT BLOCKS. LAST NIGHT I TRIED SOME chicken WITH VEGGIES BUT DIDN'T MANAGE TO GET MUCH DOWN , I FELT REALLY FULL ALL EVENING AND IT'S NOON AND I HAVEN'T YET HAD ANYTHING BUT TEA AND Water AS MY STOMACH STILL FEELS FULL.

I KNOW I'M NOT GETTING ENOUGH NUTRITION IN A DAY BUT AM NOT QUITE SURE WHAT TO DO.

DO ALL OF YOU EAT GROUND MEAT.LEAN GROUND BEEF COOKED IN A broth IS EASIER TO GET DOWN.

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE:blushing:

A lot of people have trouble with meats, especially dry ones, early out. It definitely helps to put all the meat in broth.

But in the meantime, until your tummy isn't so swollen, have you considered Protein drinks? Some people don't consider them "real" food but their Protein is very bio-available and they also count towards your Fluid intake for the day. I'm still on "soft" food so I use a lot of Protein Drinks, but even when I'm progressed to regular food, I am sure I will still have at least one a day for a while.

I'd call your doc and have a chat with them. Possible that you may be swollen still...also possible they may have put some fill in at surgery and that is why you are getting so much restriction.

Is it just the meat??

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
