I have a history of Migraines and also get a lot of headaches that don't turn into migraines. Because of this, I take a lot of pain meds. I'm not concerned about my Migraine medicine because it is quite small and I also can take an injectable form but for just headaches? What can I take besides Tylenol? I know some people talk about taking liquid Tylenol, esp. right after surgery. I think I'll go through a bottle at a time if that's all I can take!

Anyone else have this problem? How have you handled it? I asked the surgeon about it but he wasn't terribly helpful. I may ask one of the clinic doctors for suggestions.

Get something in a pill form that can be crushed. Make sure you ask at Dr. or someone at the pharmacy some of the meds I had were time relaesed and could not be crushed. I still have to crush a lot of my meds that are to large to cut in half. I mix mine with sf pudding.< /p>

There are options for you just need to ask.

Good Luck

Actually, I have found for me personally that the liquid Tylenol is much more effective than the pill form. It knocks out the worst of my headaches in a hurry.

Hello fellow Migraine sufferer! :wink2:

Yesterday was my first test of this...had a sinus migraine. I called the doc and they said yes....crush the med. After the 3rd different med...it finally worked and my headache was gone. As the other poster mentioned....I bought liquid extra strength tylenol and it works much faster on whatever you take it for... love it!

Now...fingers crossed I don't get a hormone migraine or I am in trouble..as my progesterone can't be broken, I guess I would have to get an injectable. ;(

GOOD LUCK!!

HI JES,

I also have Migraines. My doctor told me that 58%of Migraine suffers never have a migraine again after surgery. I have been banded since aug 21 and I have not had one since. I plan on keeping it this way. Good Luck. I hope you will become migraine free.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
