Hi i am a august bandstar and so far i have lost 7kgs, I have had 1 fill already.

I have been getting this pain in the top half of my stomach about where the band is this pain is not there all the time but when i get it it hurts, it feels like my liver is rubbing on the band, I told my Doc that i get sore (didnt tell him it felt like my liver rubbing on the band) told him it felt like that feeling of butterflys in your stomach but painful ones He reckons its just gas. This is stopping me doing just about all exercise, Has anyone else had this feeling?, i get it if i do abit more exercise than normal or eat something that does not go down well. Problem is im getting it everyday.

I was getting a pain at the top half of my stomach right under my chest. It was gas. I laid down and took gas x drinking more Water. I found it was the Beans that gave it to me. I havent had it sense my dr told me it could be scare tissue if it is all the time. Good luck

It's not likely it's your liver; they aren't really enervated (no nerves there to transmit pain messages) so there's no way for you to feel pain from it even if it WERE rubbing on your band which is unlikely. Odds are it's gas. However if it stops you from exercising (aerobic exercise should help get rid of gas) tell your doctor again; make sure he knows it bothers you that much.

Thanks, I burp heaps and real long ones, i hardly ever used to burp and if i did they were not long drawn out ones like i have now.

My stomach always feels funny, like i can feel it floating around inside of me. Im hoping it will go, dont see the docter now for a month or so.

It probably will go away with time, there were quite a few strange feelings in the months after surgery.

I still ocassionally get a strange pain now though, its a real belly ache, completely without nausea, its muscular pain, and it makes the top of my stomach really hurt, but also travels up my esophagus and makes my jaw and cheeks ache really badly. It can be excruciating. Really cold food sets it off, but sometimes I just get it. It doesnt usually last very long though.

After having my band for 14 months, I have recently started to get a ton of gas. Its really painful and nasty. Today pain under my solar plexus was so sharp I thought I would pass out in the bank. I'm going to have a defill and do fluids and have my band looked at under fluoro, because all this pain doesn't seem right

I dont know if this is related by I get pains in the top of my stomach when I havent had enough water. Then I drink Water and it goes away.

Sometimes I just forget to drink enough.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
