Ok I have a few questions.. If anyone has answers for suggestions I would appreciate it..

I am one week post op and I have been on full liquids since the day after my surgery. I have had an ok to rough week pain wise..

My fluids ..protein and Water are going down fine no issues, but I am suppose to start mushies tomorrow and I am a little worried.. I know to eat super slowly and super small bites..

Basically my question is ..a few times a day I will get what feels like a gas bubble in the middle of my throat and I will try to belch but nothing and then a few min later I will hiccup which hurts pretty bad :D I must say.. After I hiccup it will clear for awhile and then it may or may not come back.. Also, every once in awhile I will get this bubble that will form in my belly and it will be a little painful and then it will sounds like it goes up growls and is gone.. I thought that was a new hunger pain or gas.. I could not decide. It happens more when it is time for me to drink my Protein drink then anything and then once I drink it that feeling subsides for awhile until it is almost time for me to drink it again.. I cant figure out what any of this is and well it is all uncomfortable..

Does anyone have this feelings or suggestions on what they may be??

Thanks in advance.. Hope everyone is doing well..

Hi! I do not have any suggestions. However, I was banded on 9.29 and I think the same thing is happening to me.

HI. I was banded Sept 30. I also get my full liquids down easily but it seems like whenever I swallow something it stirs up the air in my esophagus. I get the feeling of a ball of pressure and try to burp it out. The burping is painful. I saw my doc today for my first post op and he did not seem particularly concerned about this. There seems to be a lot of messages on the boards about gas and gas pain. I wonder if it will ever go away???

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
