docscinder 0 Posted October 7, 2008 Well, I had my band put in on Oct 2. I have been doing pretty good little pain not hungry and drinking my liquids only for the first 2 weeks. The one problem I am having is really bad heart palpitations. I have issues when iI dont get enough carbs and I think that might be it. I was wondering if anyone else had this trouble, and how they remedied it. Thanks! Cindy

srfrmom 0 Posted October 7, 2008 I've had the same issues and had it checked out and there wasn't any problems. But I would definitely go asap to have that looked at.....
kamica 0 Posted October 8, 2008 I had the same problem. I attribute it to fewer calories, and cutting out caffine. I was an avid soda drinker. My doc did check me out, which I would also advise. It took about 8-10 weeks for it to completely go away. I thought I was going nuts. I will tell you that I have experienced heart problems, and the feeling is quite different. My chest felt like an elephant was sitting on it when it was my heart, this was more like a racing feeling that was accompanied by a very nervous feeling. As the others have stated, check it out. If it's not your heart, it may take a while to subside. Good Luck, Kami

txorchid 0 Posted April 7, 2010 I have had this problem when I have been on very low carb diets and ended up at a cardiologist's office. It ended up that I was deficient in magnesium. Apparently when one consumes low carb foods, there is a risk of not getting enough magnesium. I take a powdered magnesium supplement called "Calm" and it does the trick. I would definitely go to your doctor to make sure it is nothing more serious. But it shouldn't hurt to start supplementing with magnesium too. Good luck.
