How do you get 60g of protein in a day?

Recommended Posts

Hi tree9148,

I just realized by going deeper into the website that I can also buy a 2LB trial size and a 5LB size of the egg white Protein powder. Does this have to be refrigerated after the box has been opened? The price looks really good.

Hi tree9148,

Looks like the eggwhite Protein is sold in a 10lb box. What kind of shelf-life does it have? It would take me a long time to use 10lbs a tablespoon at a time.

This is the reply I got back from SportProtein.com when I ask about the egg white Protein Powder they sell.

Yes, it will be good for ten months. No, it does not have to be kept refrigerated. The main thing is that you need to keep it dry. Most people just keep it in the cupboard or pantry, and this works fine. I think you will be pleased with the value of the product. Also, it is lab tested, and USDA approved before shipment. Please let me know if I may help you further. -Thanks, Ryan

Thank you wins pretty woman. I've been finding more and more since I started looking, and for me variety is key. If the taste isn't right for me, I won't choke it down. I've got a good variety, thanks to ll your replys. It should get me through pre and post surgery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
