coltonwade 27 Posted October 7, 2008 Have you had any fills between then and now ? It does sound like you need a fill. That is the great part about the band. its a tool , just use it when you need it ! Mindy
jeninpink 4 Posted October 7, 2008 I had only 2 fills after my surgery, one fill, then, just a tweek the following week, bc it wasnt full enough. So, I do see people have had several fills....do you think it will help?! Its making me feel awful the last thing I want is gains!
coltonwade 27 Posted October 7, 2008 are you at or were you at your goal weight. Yes you need a fill. That is what the band is there for , but you have to use it . Not to be mean but there is no way i would have allowed myself to gain 20 lbs with out getting a fill before hand , unless there are circumstances where you could not get a fill for some reason . Your just causing a yo yo affect and there is no reason for it w/ the band . for instance, I get fills when i start to be able to eat a lot. Some people get them when they can eat a lot AND are not losing weight , some get them when they can eat a lot and teh weight loss stops. I chose to not weight for the wieght loss to even slow down and get them just when i can eat alot. Again it does sound like you need a fill . In my opinion , unless your at or near goal ( and even then ) there is no reason to NOT get fills when your gaining weight . Good luck Mindy
jeninpink 4 Posted October 7, 2008 Well, for one, I wasnt sure if it was me, and I was doing something wrong (although my eating habits are the same) I find that it just seems like I need a fill. Quite honestly, I just need to find a place that is a little cheaper than the 250 or 300 I need to pay for fills, where I had my surgery. I know it sounds silly but with 4 kids...lol..that is how I stumbled on this site actually, searching for a place for a fill, other than my original doctor here in Chicago, I am calling a place just outside the city, in Oak Brook, I hear they are 100 dollars cheaper. Lets hope!!!! You are giving me hope.

Good docs , and good fill docs are hard to find. And if you go somewhere else your doc may not take you on as a patient anymore. you might want ot talk to him before hand, see if you went somewhre else for fills if he's " ok" with that.
