murphmann 0 Posted October 6, 2008 I am 2.5 weeks post op, and and on soft solids. Well I was feeling good and my wife made a low fat terriyaki chicken and broccali dish, well the chicken was not grinded or:tongue_smilie: mashed up enough. Mann am I sorry. I ended up throwing up and feeling like crap, well I will never do that again. Please learn from my mistake
*susan* 1,709 Posted October 7, 2008 (edited) Yep, probably not the best choice you could have made only 2 1/2 weeks out. How are you feeling today? Just a suggestion, after having a bad "episode" like that, it is usually a good idea to go back on liquids for 24 hours. kathystrick 3 Posted October 7, 2008 Broccoli is one of the most common problem foods for bandsters. The tops are ok, but the stems won't go through. That was the first food I got stuck on. Just thought I would mention that little tidbit. Good luck!
Renob 1 Posted October 7, 2008 Broccoli is one of the most common problem foods for bandsters I have found that if I put my vegies in my steamer and over steam then till they are very soft I have NO problems with any vegies.
Bengal Fan 0 Posted October 7, 2008 I've noticed that I can eat just about anything now as long as I take small bites and chew, chew, chew but my problem is I have "forgotten" on occasion and when starving, I ate too fast and didn't chew enough and what I was eating got stuck and felt like a huge lump in my chest! I just keep trying to burp and it seems to help after a while... so don't forget SMALL BITES, CHEW, CHEW, CHEW!
