I had my surgery on the 29th of september. I had called the nutritionist to find out if SF pudding was in mushies or my full liquids stage. She said they dont normally recommend it till the mushies but it would not hurt me if I feel that I am hungry.

Well at that point I put it off another 2 days and today I thought I would give it a try. I am not sure how I feel about this. I just took my baby spook and dipped it in the end of the chocolate SF pudding like 4 times.

I do not feel like I am cheating or anything but maybe the fear of eating the wrong thing and getting sick. I am sitting here now seeing how that does with my stomach before I continue. Is it normal to feel like this? the fear of the unknown?

SF pudding is on my Dr's liquid list.

I have been eating it since the day after surgery (in small amounts) @1/4c a sitting (@1/2 a prepared container).

I take it slow as fullness sneaks up on me and before I know it I am FULL!

I eat it one lick at a time!:tt2:

I see that we have approximately the same amount of weight to loose also. I just finished my tablespoon of pudding and just taking time to listen to my body and see how it sounds. So far nothing different than when I drink a Protein shake so I am taking that as a good sign.

Just thinking how tuesday will be when i can start eating chicken salad and applesauce.

I did this today; you have to try it!

If you like cheesecake that is.

Jello has a cheesecake pudding (SF of course).

I used @3tablespoons of the chcake pudding with a small amount of strawberry (SF of course) jello and it was heavenly.

I am sick of all the sweet stuff but this was really good!:tt2:

I was banded on the 29th as well. I too have lost 19lbs. I am into full liquids and have been having real good luck with Creamy Yougurt, Strained Broccoli cheese Soup, and one Protein drink (Carnation Instant Chocolate).

I am excited to get through the pureed stage and onto mushies. It will make it so much easier (I think)..

Oh I really agree. yea with the chicken salad they said I can use the stuff in the can just like the tuna. I was also debating, due to money straints, if I could just baked some chicken.. shred it with a knife and then throw it into my blender if that wouldnt be just the same and at least I know what I am eating. I can then add mayo to it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
