Same here, I did a two week Opti-Fast and it was $200 for three cases. I got two of chocolate and one of strawberry. I actually like the chocolate and it is very satisfying. I never actually felt hungry. Now, the strawberry is still in my pantry. I didn't like the taste of it. But I had plenty with the two cases of chocolate. I lost 13 pounds during that two period. I did NOT cheat ... only the Opti-Fast and liquids, and the SF popcicles and Jello. You can do too, because if you've come this far, you are committed to changing your life, and this is the first major step! So hang in and keep telling yourself, you are in charge of the body from now on!!!

I go tomorrow for my two week post-op visit. I went last week to my PCP for a one week checkup and I had lost 8 pounds. I feel great, the surgery was so easy. Gas pains is the worse of it, and I used the Gas-x strips that just dissolve on your tongue and they worked great! My incisions have healed beautifully and I'm very excited about this journey and all the great people I have met along the way!

God Bless,

Jeanie

:tt2:My doctor had me on Optifast, I didn't loose any weight but my sugar count went up and I don't have diabetes, 17gm of sugar in optifast. He charged me $200 for 81-6oz. containers but I ask if he would approve Unjury, he said yes, it's a lot cheaper but you do have to add milk and put one scoop in a glass. Go to www.unjury.com it's cool.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
