So Emotional!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I was banded on 9/30 and seem to be so super emotional the last couple of days. I mean my brain will say " you are being silly" but I can't seem to help it. I feel like I'm crawling out of my skin. I wonder am I getting to much or not enough. I am on Full liquids which means I can have anything that will slide off a spoon. I am supposed to get 64 oz of liquid and 64 gr of Protein. I ate cream of potato Soup last night and the taste was so good I had 2 cups over an hour Is that 2 much on the liquid phase? I know I'm ramblin but has anyone else felt out of sorts with everything?

I so want the band to work and I want to follow my directions just feeling about overwhelmed.

Feeling emotional is normal as your body is adjusting to the lower caloric intake. Pretty soon, you will feel like yourself again, you just have to give it a little time.

P.S. My surgeon said no creamy Soups during the liquid phase...he told me to save that for the "mushy" phase.

It happened to all of us during the early stages . . . and you are so newly banded, you may still be grieving for your previous life. Also remember that as you lose fat rapidly, you are releasing hormones trapped in the fat that can give you longer-term super pms like emotional swings (just ask my husband, lol).

It gets better, you adjust and with time you will be so happy with your new life and new you that you will never even want to think about the past. These food stages are super tough as well but we all make our way through these miserable days.

I agree about staying away from cream Soups - and 2 cups is alot. Cream soups need to be ingested in moderation if you intend to lose during this period. Try to drink more Water, broth and other sugar free beverages to combat some of that desire to eat these things.

Good luck!!!

I thought that I was losing my mind a few times, it is good to see that I wasn't the only one going through the mood swings and wanting to crawl out of my skin. The best thing I did was keep a journal and look back on it when I have those days. I had my surgery on 9-8-08 and I still have days where I cry for no reason and it feels like the world is falling apart. Just remember that in 6 months from now you will feel like a NEW you and how happy you will be. It will all be worth it. Take Care and best of luck..

Emotional! Ok, this is funny and sad all at the same time. After I got my band and it was time for my one month appointment, I had SEVERAL co-workers ask me to ask my doctor for medication to "even me out"!

I was like, "What do you mean by even me out?"

They were all scared to tell me the truth, they just said stuff like, you're not quite yourself lately, you seem sad, you're a little hostile, etc.

Needless to say, I didn't have to ask for meds. It is an emotional roller coaster as I reinvent myself but it's also an adventure. I'm able to sleep now, eat normal foods and I'm losing weight. I feel great now and no one has asked me to get "meds" again:laugh:

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
