lojo 0 Posted October 4, 2008 (edited) Hi, I'm Lojo from Dublin, Ga. I am 57 years old and a proud grandmother of six children (3 boys and 3 girls). I've had my consult with Dr. V.John Bagnato (Albany, Georgia) and waiting to hear that I'm officially approved. My husband's BCBS will pay for the surgery, but they must have a denial letter from United Health Care. I hope this want take long. I'm ready to start my life as a healthier, thinner mother and grandmother. He said once approved the surgery could be scheduled within two weeks. My obesity is co-morbid with multiple health problems (diabetes Type II;RA;hypertension;depression, GERD,sleep apnea, high cholesterol, underactive thyroid). I hope to be a November Bandster. I have been reading many of the comments posted in the forum. They have been very helpful and encouraging. TerriDoodle 6 Posted October 4, 2008 Hey Lojo! Welcome! Yeah, it certainly does sound like you'd do very well with the band to improve your health. Many of those conditions can be greatly improved with some weight loss! The band is not a magic cure but it sure does help!! Best of luck to you with your insurance matters! lojo 0 Posted October 4, 2008 Terri, Thanks for the words of encouragement!! I can't wait to check out your jewelry store on line! I am a jewelry nut. Is the LapBand removed once you reach your goal weight or is it left in forever? Lojo, Dublin,Ga.
TerriDoodle 6 Posted October 4, 2008 It is meant to be left in for your lifetime. You can have an 'unfill' when you reach your goal if you like. Oh, I hope you like my store! Thanks for visiting! T.
