question:confused:...do any of yall have these, what i call esophageal spasms? i don't have to be eating or drinking but i get these spasms upper chest...it's not so bad i can't stand it, but not pleasant either....

ok, i will hush for a while...:) yall hang in there...i am trying to catch up...

I do get the spasms. Unfortunately for me, I was getting them before surgery, so I take levsin for it. My PCP seems to think it is a part of my IBS.

hey slim...you can never give TMI...hehe...:tt2:when you had your p'bing episode...was it like i have heard...slimy? or just stuck...? did it hurt? or just uncomfy? it worries me a little that there wasn't really a warning leading up to it, just a hello, here i am kinda think, ya know?

It was slimy, but I didn't slime if that makes sense. I could see the slime when the chicken came up, but I never had just slime coming up into my mouth. It didn't hurt, but it never made it out of my throat. I just felt like I should have been choking or something. I burped a few times while it was in my throat, but it didn't give any kind of relief. I would have loved to have a warning. I don't know if I missed it or what. I am just going slow with it now.

Hi Samurai! I am 6 weeks and 1 day post op. Ihad my first fill today. It went like a breeze. I got 3 ccs in my 9 cc realize band. I was really surprised to get that much. The dr said that I should feel restriction and to do soft foods and liquids tonight. I came home and had a little broccoli and rice mix with a little mashed chicken. It went down well. Oh and by the way I have lost 21 lbs since surgery! I also started the couch to 5k program this week and love love love it!

You are doing so well with your weight loss! I am glad that your fill went well. I have my first fill tomorrow. Supposedly, my doctor won't tell me how much they put in though. I guess I will see tomorrow. Keep up the good work!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
