What happened to Joan Cusack?

Recommended Posts

I happened to catch part of Martian Child today.

Joan Cusack was in the flick. What the heck happened to her? She used to be really pretty, and now she's haggard and looks ill.

It's sorta on topic, does anyone know if she had WLS? Google shows nothing.

I think maybe sometimes thin is =too= thin.

I know! I saw something in a tabloid here with a catty remark beneath the photo.

I think probably what happened to her is that although she is an attractive woman, she's "normal" looking, not Hollywood stunning. So she's fallen for the old lose tons of weight, have too much cosmetic surgery, if nature didnt give it to you buy it routine. The pressure probably just got to her. It tends to as you get older (like over 25!)

Trouble is, that trick never works, you just end up looking like a freak.

Its such a shame. There's nothing wrong with being normal looking, normal sized, in fact it makes you more attractive to most people than Hollywood plastic fantastic.

ps: you can barely tell Pamela Anderson and Michael Jackson apart these days.

As far as I know she's never had a weight issue. At least a "being overweight" issue. (Not like I'm on the up and up though!) I've always thought she was very thin. Now she almost looks anorexic, or like you said, Manatee, ill. I thought the same thing last time I saw her. Wondered if she'd been really ill.

Hope she's okay.

I caught part of that movie the other day and thought she was as unattractive as always, but didn't really think she looked any different. If I had noticed, I would probably attribute it to the role. Most of the time actors have to change something about their physique/appearance for the character they're being paid to play. Thinness and a degree of angularity would def. have fit the char so maybe it was intentional... dunno. On her weight, late 80s/early 90s I saw an interview with her, why I remember this I don't know -- she had played a role that was a size 12 and claimed it was really her size.

She was heavier at some point in her career than she is now.

I tend to think she looks fantastic pretty much all the time. But her mouth definitely has a strange shape.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
