Something positive. Well I am 13 lbs. from goal and about three weeks from my one year bandiversary. I am enjoying the benefits that come from being close to goal, such as increased fitness and energy and being able to buy 'thin' cute clothes.

I feel so so much better about myself. I have lost over a hundred pounds and I really hate to think where I would be if I had not had the band. The band has truly been a miracle in my life. I finally feel like I am the person I am supposed to be. I didn't feel like ME when I was 100 lbs. overweight. I was always insecure and felt really unhappy and embarrassed about the way I looked.

Thank God for the Lap Band!!

What a great post to read in the morning. A great way to start my day off!!! Thanks

My positive post for the day is-------

I'm determined to get into two pairs of jeans that I used to wear. The only two pairs of "pants" that make my flat arse look halfway decent. :tongue2:

All I can say is "wow". This is a beautiful thread.

Positive:

1. I avoided the scale this weekend because I just knew that I had gained weight as I moved to solid foods. I got on the scale this morning and I actually lost 1lb!

2. I am unsubscribing to rants and political threads that are not contributing to my weight loss journey. I am subscribing to more threads like this one!

I think this picture says it all. From size 26/28 to size 12 in about 15 months. Yippee! I love my band and my life 148 pounds lighter.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
