Hello Everyone, I have been viewing the site for some time now and just decided to join. I was banded April, 2008 and have had 5 fills. However, I have only lost 45 pounds and feeling discouraged. I now this is a journey, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can so that I can have continued success. This site is has been a great help!

Good luck to you on your upcomming surgery. It is definitely a good thing, but it is a journey. I am 6 months out and my biggest obsticle is exercise. Just write if you have any questions about the surgery!

Yes, I am fairly new to the site as well. I check it about every other day. My biggest challenge is I see people loosing lots of weight really fast and I'm not. It's very confusing and frustrating at times. I'm trying to figure out how to get the max out of my band so that I can continue to loose weight. However, surgery has been my best diet aid!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
