luv2bslim 0 Posted September 30, 2008 Hi, My husband and I are scheduled to be banded on October 16th in Mexico. Just wondering if anyone else out there will have the same "birthday" as us. Good luck to everyone and thanks for all of the wonderful advice!

lori_ann 1 Posted October 1, 2008 ME TOO!!! Kinda not looking forward to starting my pre-op diet tomorrow, but ready to get going. Good Luck, everyone.
luv2bslim 0 Posted October 2, 2008 I'm glad to know both of you! I was beginning to think that we were the only ones getting banded on the 16th. For the first time in my life, I'm really committed to making a change and I feel GREAT about it. I am a little bit nervous, but I'm much more excited about becoming the person I know that I should be. Good luck to both of you and let's keep in touch after the surgery! lori_ann 1 Posted October 2, 2008 Where are y'all located? I had my pre-op testing this morning and the radiologist said I had a small hiatal hernia, but it shouldn't be a problem. They may also take my gallbladder out while they're in there. SOO, yeah I'm nervous. But excited too. Are you on a liver-shrinking diet?
tracie30 0 Posted October 3, 2008 I will share the same "birthday" as all of you!!! I just signed my consent forms today and will start my liquid diet tomorrow. Not looking forward to that!!! Although I am very excited, I am starting to get a little nervous. Just having any surgery makes me nervous. I am in Ohio. I will be having my surgery at Hamot in Erie, PA with Dr. Ali. Please keep me posted with your progress.
luv2bslim 0 Posted October 4, 2008 I will begin my pre-op diet on Monday and I'm actually looking forward to it. While I have never liked diets in the past or been very successful with them, this one is different. I feel like I'm on a journey to me and I have lots of support. My husband and I live in Tennessee. We are being banded together in Mexico on the 16th. Where is everyone else?
lori_ann 1 Posted October 6, 2008 I'm just north of Dallas in Frisco, TX. This is day four of the pre-op diet and it hasn't gotten easier yet but maybe tomorrow will be better. How are y'all doing with it?
luv2bslim 0 Posted October 6, 2008 So far so good on the Pre-Op diet. I sure do miss the Diet Cokes, but haven't had any bad headaches, so I'm glad about that. I've been drinking a lot of Crystal Light and the apple flavor is amazing. We're getting closer to our date and I'm so excited!
lori_ann 1 Posted October 6, 2008 Ahhh...Diet coke. It's my biggest addiction. I will miss it more than any food. We only have ten days to go!! Today is my last appointment with my surgeon's office before surgery, then I work every day up until surgery day. It's gonna go fast!
Scorpyian1 0 Posted October 6, 2008 (edited) I'm being banded on Oct. 16th as well! I can't wait! A whole winter to get ready for the beach -- but this time, it will work! Edited October 6, 2008 by Scorpyian1 url
Gracey 7 Posted October 7, 2008 16th here too! My doc is only having me do 2 days of liquids. Are y'all staying overnight?
tracie30 0 Posted October 8, 2008 My liquid diet is going ok. I miss FOOD!!!! But I am excited about starting my weight loss journey. Keeping my eye on the prize helps keep me focused!! Keep me posted on how everyone is doing!!
lori_ann 1 Posted October 8, 2008 Yea! More people on our day! My doctor keeps people overnight and then the upper GI in the morning prior to discharge. It's good because my family isn't able to come up so at least I'll have someone with me the first night.
