Hey...

So I am looking for a mentor, preferrable someone close (but online support is wonderful too). I am brand new to this whole thing and it's really frightening. I am still learning about the procedure and talking with my doctors - but we are tossing around the middle of december as a date for my surgery.

I am 32. I returned to college after taking time off. I have around 150-200 lbs to lose but mostly I just want to feel better and be able to move around easier. I have a genetic spinal disease that makes mobility difficult sometimes, but dropping the weight will really help me deal with my back better.

So yeah.. that's me. I would greatly appreciate anyone who wants to support me through this.

I live in Fresno area, so I'm not too far... but can definatley chat online..So, do you have a December surg date already? I got banded yesterday (Oct 1st) and am up and around just fine. Like you, I have back problems and am sure losing 100 lbs will help alot.. I also have high blood pressure that I'd like to get rid of..
