h@rt*s mommy 1 Posted September 30, 2008 I had surgery this last Wednesday, and today I went back to work, I felt like I was running all day long, BUT at the end of the day, and towards this evening, I have been feeling my area where the band is get hard like a contraction. All I had today was a slimfast for Breakfast for Protein, and some crackers because I felt like I was going to pass out, I also had a lemonade to drink as well. I used a straw. Whats the deal with straws, are we not suppose to drink from them? Anyways, any suggestions to whats up?
ssdown 0 Posted September 30, 2008 I had some of that same tightness and mild discomfort too. As you heal, it should diminish. If it doesn't be sure to tell your MD. I use a straw daily with no problem. I did wait for a month or so before I started. I guess you can swallow too much air which can cause discomfort. Feeling faint is no excuse for cheating on the post op diet. You can have liquids that will do the same thing. I'd stick with liquids and see if that doesn't make the pain better.
