pamie71 0 Posted September 29, 2008 I am currently filled to 7cc in a 14cc band. I went to a support group meeting a couple of weeks ago and asked how do you know if you are ready for another fill or if you have stretched your "new" stomach. The nurse proceeded to tell me how NOT to make that happen, but never clarified how you can tell. I had a fill about a month ago and did pretty good for a while. But the last couple of weeks I've pretty much been able to eat anything I want. I'm scared that I have stretched out my pouch. I go for another fill this Wednesday, hopefully that will put me back on the right track. I'm so affraid of sliding backwards and doing all of this for nothing. Can anybody relate? Renob 1 Posted September 29, 2008 call your Doc and talk to him, and you need to know that you CANT eat what or how much you want you can cause all kinds of problems by doing so. I have been lucky and have a 10cc band and have not had a fill and have great restriction, for me its all about eating VERY slow and tiny bites shoot I many times dont even fell like eating my entire meal but do so knowing I need to. Good luck.
glorybee123 0 Posted September 29, 2008 It has been explained to me that the reason the band gets looser after you lose weight is the fat around your stomach decreases so you gradually are able to eat more. That plus the fact that you stop losing lets you know that it is time for a fill. Sorry, I don't know too much about pouch stretching except you should try not to eat too much or drink carbonated drinks.< /p>
chocolate_snaps 3 Posted September 30, 2008 I am really interested to know also. It hasnt been explained to me how, without being under fluoroscope, you can tell that the pouch is stretched. I really would like to know. So if anyone has the answer, dont sit on it.
