Questions - Cycle Changes Anyone?

Recommended Posts

Good Morning All!

I have two quick questions - has anyone experienced changes to their cycle since they have been banded? I am 4 months post-op and my cycle time is getting shorter - I used to be a perfect 28 days - now I am 21 to 24 days in between cycle. I am not sure if it's because I turned 40 this year but it's definitely a change and it's unpredictable.

My second question - has the water-weight during your period changed? (do you gain weight during your period? - meaning is it different than before the band?) I used to gain like 7 lbs - now I really don't gain but I don't lose anything for about 10 days...

Thanks I appreciate any input!

Christina

Yes, but I, like you, turned 40 this year. Therefore, I'm assuming its age, not the band.

I've had an almost 2 week period, then 2 weeks later, I started spotting, went couple of days with nothing, then my period started again. I'd been pretty regular for quite a few years before this.

I do lose weight though, due to being so tight during TOM.

May I ask, was turning 40 a factor in getting the band? I only ask because it was for me. Seeing all the health issues in my family, and a big birthday coming, I didn't want the same future for myself.

Definitely - my 40th Birthday pictures sealed the deal for me - pictures don't lie and I was shocked. I started thinking of my health and energy - I was afraid of the future if I didn't lose weight!

Thanks for responding!

Welcome to the 40's, ladies. I'm 42 and got off the pill around 38-39. I just noticed that my cycle is <28 days and it had been fairly solidly 28 days since I got off the pill. I've put on weight this summer with my "last dinner" mentality so I wonder if that's hurt me.

Do you all feel like "how in world did I get to 40? College was just yesterday!" Luckily I always get people telling me I don't look my age. Hopefully once I am banded, I won't look older as the fat leaves my face! My grandmother says, "fat pushes the wrinkles out!" I love that quote. I'm rambling, sorry!

I agree - but I am loving 40 so far - getting the lapband was a good choice for me - it has changed me and my life!

Thanks for the response! I will be thinking of you come the 16th - good luck on your surgery!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
