poor choices with friends around....

Recommended Posts

So anyone else run into this problem?? Making poor choices when ur pals are around? I tend to pick poor foods and eat mushy items which means i can eat more....

Now i know this is bad, and its wrong... I run into this issue about once a week sometime 2 times . I could use some advice and tips from others who have been here and were able to beat the need to eat like ur pals!

Also some side facts so you have a better understanding.

March 1st 2008 started to work for pre band diet lost 23lbs .

May 21st 2008 band ... Sept 28th 2008 total of 84lbs lost.

Work out 6-7 days a week , most days ( 5-6 ) healthy choices for food.

Are you sure you are eating too much of the foods? I eat tortillas with refried Beans, but I eat 1/2 c of Beans with one serving of chips. Yes, I count them out. I find that I normally can't even finish it. I feel full. If I didn't check the serving size prior to eating, I would probably think I over ate also.

It sounds like you are doing great and the 2 times a week screw ups aren't hurting you. If you aren't overindulging on amounts those times (don't want to stretch the pouch), I say don't worry about it. You are enjoying your life and still losing weight.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
