FitFlops - Anyone given these a try?

Recommended Posts

I have only seen the tennis shoe type (MBTs?) in real life. I'm interested to know what people think too!

I have only seen them at Macy's, and they were always out of them. I don't know if that means that they are great, or if other people are just following the craze. I have wanted to try them though.

I have a pair of MBT tennis shoes and really like them. However, I only got them because of foot pain and problems, not for any fitness benefits. I have not noticed any changes in muscle tone and have definitely not lost any weight, but they are comfortable for my feet--though not a cure. I have been plague by plantar fasciitis, and have had cortisone shots, taping, and custom orthotics despite the shoes. Hopefully I can get it taken care of, and the shoes will help with "maintenance." I would like to get a pair of their sandals too since they are pretty comfy (but expensive, about $250 a pair). Great shoes, but I really can't recommend them for providing fitness or weight assistance.

my mother in law had them but she is fairly thin and prob didn't get them for the excercise (?) benefits. i'll ask her what she thought of them though. i do recall her saying they were like $170 at lady foot locker but that was months ago.

I've had a pair of FitFlops for a while. I saw them advertised on the Bath and Body Works website and tracked some down at Macy's. I don't know that they've really done anything for me, fitness-wise, but they are pretty comfortable for flip-flops. They run about $50.

I Loooooove my Fitflops!:)

I mean I love them.

I have planter fascitis (sp?) and they have made it possible for me to walk.

Period.

Before getting my Fitflops I had so much pain in my heel I couldn't walk very far without being in excruciating pain.

They have been a life saver.

They are pricey but worth every penny!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
