I had my last fill 4 weeks ago. I really felt the restriction and found myself PB'ing for the first time. I have experienced a bit more discomfort when eating, like if I had to big piece of food or ate to fast. Now In the last 2 days the restriction seems gone and I seem like I can eat lot more. I haven't lost anything in the last 2 weeks and about 2 pounds the first 2 weeks. Does this sound like I'm due for another fill? Or should I just really watch my food and portions. I have a support meeting on 10/1 and wonder if I should try for a small fill. I'm at 6cc in a 10 band.

I have experienced the same thing for the past month. Got my fourth fill and really felt restriction for the first time. Have to be very careful or I PB and food gets stuck but I haven't lost a single pound in the last two weeks and only 4 pounds in the 2 weeks before. Not sure what is going on but I don't think I can take any more fill.

I agree with the poster Jack. It always helps me to take my time. I've had a "stuck" incident and have had problems since. Today I tried to take a tiny bite of BBQ beef. I chewed and chewed, but it got stuck. Tried the hot coffee trick, no luck. Then tried the "downward dog position" from Yoga and boom, it popped out, along with the coffee and it all landed on my bedroom floor. At that moment my pride and dignity went out the window. DH walks in and sees me bending over with my rear up in the air and this mess on the floor and he looked horrified, nevermind, I will stop here...TMI!

I'm so sorry...lost my train of thought. My point was, it might be best to go slow and easy with the fills. Allow yourself to adapt. Good night...

I know that you should watch you calories. I got a fill and was hardly able to eat much and because of this I wasn't getting in more than 800 calories a day and if your body does not get more than that it stores fat thinking you are starving. What I have found to work for me is...remember the liquid days? Yeh, go back to Liquid Protein for 2 or 3 days then the weight starts jumping back off. Hope this helps you!! I am at an 87lb weight loss after 6 months.

I love this forum. Desert Rose thanks for the laugh. Been there done almost that same thing. I think I will hold off on the fill and count calories for a while. Thanks for all the responses.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
