Couch to 5k Question

Recommended Posts

For those of you doing the C25k program on a treadmill - are you adjusting the incline at all? I am on week 4 and have only been adjusting the speed at this point - thoughts?

I noticed you didn't get any answers. I know there are people doing that program on LBT. Maybe if you posted in the General Support forum you'd catch their attention??

yes, i changed up the incline on the treadmill - but i also ran outdoors.

my neighborhood is quite hilly, and it was interesting how much of an incline i could increase to on the treadmill - after getting use to running outside.

good luck to you!!

I'm starting my third week on a similar program and I have done the same as you...only adjusted the speed. Right now I am only concerned with building my endurance. I figure if I keep it up all fall and winter then this spring I will be able to run outside and start going to some races. So, later towards the spring, when my endurance is much better and I can run for much longer, then I will start playing around with the incline. At least these are my thoughts for now. I hope this helps. Just thought I would share what I am doing.

I have completed the couch to 5k and did it on the treadmill. I didn't start running outdoors until after I could run 5K. Now it is so hard to make myself run on the treadmill because it is so eautiful outdoors. Anyway, to answer your question, I did not adjust the incline on the treadmill. Now that I run outside I can adjust the incline without problems. I wouldn't worry about the incline. As long as you are sticking with the program at what ever speed and incline you choose you are building endurance and will be successful at it!! Best wishes to you!!

I just recently started changing up the speed and incline some. I don't do it everytime, but I throw it in there every now and then. I also just started runnng outside some and I like it much better.

Good luck to you!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
