What Can Cause Band Slippage

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me their experience if they had a revision done because of slippage? My surgery is on Friday and I'm really worried.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

It depends on whether or not you have any damage to your stomach. I know a lot of people getting their bands removed and getting a sleeve. I want to do that as soon as I can afford it. I think it's just a matter of time (In my opinion) before everyone will have band problems.

Now I'm really scared, damage to your stomach? what does that mean? would the doc see this in the esophogram or only at time of surgery? also, if you don’t mind, can you tell me what the sleeve is all about or were to look for info - experience?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Just do a search on "gastric sleeve". It should pull up what you need.

I hope that's not true. Based on the 12 year study they did, only about 2% of people had problems of significance. A larger number had port problems, but they have made improvements in the past 3 years.

I have had two band slips. With the first one I did have damage to my stomache (which they can only see in surgery to answer your question) and with the second slip I didn't. If you do have damage they may remove you band instead of revising it b/c your stomach needs to heal before it can be banded again.
