I feel nothing...15 days out

Recommended Posts

I don't feel anything, I don't feel hungry I don't feel full, eating is a chore, its easier just not to do it because I can't feel ANYTHING. Is this normal... most every one I have read about is either hungry or restricted, not nothing.

This whole process is really very different for everyone. The only reason I'm interested in food at all is because I do get a little hungry if it's been awhile since I've eaten. I then have a tablespoon or a small serving of something and I'm fine again. Hang in there.

I know it seems like a chore to even think about food, let alone eat, but you really must eat something. You may need to set an alarm clock or timer and eat a couple of ounces of something Protein every 3-4 hours. You need the nutrition so you can finish healing and you need Protein first so you don't lose much of your hair. Food is really all about nutrition at this point. We don't/can't eat like we used to. Even when we're hungry, it's just not the proportions of what used to be anymore. It's really an amazing process if you think about it.

Take care and let me know how things go for you.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
