Juno, sounds like you have the right ideas and motivation! Hope some of it rubs off on me! I need to do some reassessing after the first of the year. I want to work on my work schedule and put time in there to work out. Or I need to get my butt out of bed and get after it. Which I will do, actually. I was going to start this week and do some PIYO but we have one of our puppies isn't making it so I'm doing extra feedings round the clock...yawn. Cycle of life and death I'm afraid, but I'm not ready to throw in the towel.

Woke up to snow this morning..yuck.

Hi all,

I go in for my consultation for a breast reduction on Wednesday...I nervous and excited. Whoohoo.

Wow, that will be nice. My sister-in-law had one, and I swear, she looks like a totally different woman.

Juno, coping with food. What can we do to help you? Not that I don't do the same thing...but maybe we can motivate each other?

food is such a hard thing to cope with. Juno - hang in there and it will get better.

Well, I have been having some "female" issues. So I had my annual with my gynocologist (sp?) and anyhow, after a few test (ultra sound, MRI) they have found that I have adenomyosis - its a form of endometriosis (sp) but it effects the uterus. Well, to make a long story of short, I will be having a partial hysterectomy in January (1/14/09 to be exact). So, I'm not looking forward to that. Well, maybe a little. I'll be glad to not have the massive cramps during my monthly, well, and not even having a monthly will be nice.

I've asked the doctor to keep my ovaries, so I don't have all the hormonal issues, and she has agreed to keep them if all possible.

I will be off work for 6 weeks, and I won't be able to exercise for at least 4 I think. But the doctor says she usually order her patients to take off 6 weeks. So not sure, how long it will be. My main goal is not to just lay around and EAT. I don't want to gain weight, I would like to lose during this whole ordeal.

Talk to everyone later.

Oh no! I hope everything goes well with your surgery Tonya! Let's all (ha, the 3 of us) make a pact to keep checking in here and we'll help you stay on track post-surgery.

Going to the gym this past week felt so good. I can tell I'm very deconditioned unfortunately, but I guess that's what no exercise for six months will do for you! The gym has this awesome lifefitness equipment with personal tv sets and ipod chargers and even a usb connection, so you can save your workouts on a flash drive. Isn't that nuts? I'm enjoying it, and that's all that matters.

I also joined a weight loss challenge at work. It was ten bucks in the pot to join, and it runs till June. I could easily slay this if I really put my mind to it. I was hesitant to join because of my band, but a couple other gals talked me into it, saying it didn't matter. I've already decided that if I do win, I'm going to use the money to buy something for the other participants... maybe a lunch or something. I know there would be someone carping about me "cheating", so I'll just have to nip that in the bud!

I'm off... Elena is getting baptised today

Hi Guys,

I've been running around doing Christmas stuff. Hope to get in here more often.

Tonya, tough luck but maybe good? And I agree with Juno, lets really work hard to support each other. I've just had a binge week (well, three days but seemed like the whole week) Lost a puppy and kicking myself for not doing something sooner. AND, my meeting with the plastic surgeon, well, it went well, but I had to wait almost two hours for him to finally show up. Missed my own paying client because I was over a half hour late. It just inflamed me. I usually take things in stride and I was polite, but man, was I pissed.

I'm scheduled for the surgery on Feb 3rd, if my insurance okays it. Have to go in at 7:45 am the day before, so I laid it on them, I'll be here on time, he'd better be also! In fact, I think I will give them the reminder call a few days before and remind them that I will need a call 45 minutes before the appointment, if the Dr. has arrived or not. I think that is pretty fair.

Anyway, I'm still worked up about it. But other than that, all is well. My Water consumption has fallen off and I had a tough day eating at all yesterday...10 days before period so not that.

I"m mentally telling myself to start working out to pilates DVD's tomorrow morning..and each morning after that. So, we shall see!! I don't have any excuses, but I'm lazy!

Oops, did I tell you we won a trip to Vegas in January? Just a short four day, down and back but it will be fun. I was thinking of a fill in January but may wait till after that...and after the surgery. I do have good restriction but it doesn't shut me down enough. I'm back to the old hemming and hawing on how it tight it is supposed to be.

Okay gang, where are you?

Alls well over here. I weighed in on Monday and didn't gain, but didn't lose. I started my period later in the day so maybe I'm actually down a fraction!! I figured out how come I was feeling so constricted...duh!!

How are you gals doing?

I'm here! Trying to get rid of a nasty cold. It was so bad that I didn't work out at all this week yet. I just couldn't be that person sneezing and hacking on the treadmill. So gross, ya know? Anyway, I'll be going tomorrow night as long as I feel ok. It's hard to kick a cold when you're barely getting any sleep. When DH was sick, I took the baby to my mom's house so he could rest up. You think he might give me a break by getting up with her? No. Someone needs a kick in the arse!

I don't know how you moms deal with being sick and caretaking kids. And guys have no clue..they are such babies themselves....wouldn't really occur to most of them that they could help out in that way. I don't get sick often but when I do, I still keep plugging away. I've never had a kid to take care of but livestock and such..plus my own business. When my DH is sick...everything comes to a screeching halt. I have to say this for him..In the 11 years we have been together I think he has only missed 1 1/2 days of work for being sick..but he will lay low on the weekends and not do a darned thing. Men...sheesh!!

Anyway, I'm a believer in zycam/zicam and Airborne. I know they have disproved the latter, but I think mentally it works!! :tt1: Hope you get to feeling better! Just work on getting rested..I think that is the key to getting over things sooner...not trying to over do it.

Hey Tonya..everything okay in your neck of the woods?

Hey guys.....Sula - wow, surgery? I can't remember what type your having? How long til you find out if your insurance approves?

Juno - hope you feel better soon!

Things are plugging away for me. I notice that before I struggled between 170 to 174, now my weight bounces back from 166 to 170.

Saturday, I had reached a new low of 166, today I'm at 170. My stomach is very bloated. I cannot weight for my surgery! I know I will feel better, and I honestly believe I will lose weight. I won't have all the Water retention I have, and the bloated belly.

Anyhow, I've been good in the exercise department the last week. I went last night, so tired and almost blew it off, but forced myself to go to the gym. I was glad I did.

Well, talk to everyone later.

Tonya, sounds like you are doing fantastic. Way to go. I'm very impressed with your dedication!!

I'm trying for breast reduction and lift. We got new insurance on November 1st and they (the Dr.'s office) said they would wait till after the first of the year to turn in the letter requesting approval. So, who knows. I'm scheduled for the surgery on Feb 3rd.

Juno, How ya feeling girl? Hanging in there?

I'm here! And still sick. It's a sinus infection, and I should really go get some antibiotics, but I just haven't had time. Isn't that horrible to say? DH keeps getting pissed off that I'm skipping the gym, but I just feel like that it going to run me down even more.

On the upside, I lost 2lbs this week! Whee!

Juno - GO GET ANTIBIOTICS! I have a sinus infection too and started the zpac and already feel sooooo much better.

When your sick, its hard to get to the gym. But hey, you lost 2 lbs this week, congratulations!

I've been missing in action for the last few days, i've been sick myself. I also had a spa weekend with my hubby, it was our 20 year anniversary so we just spent the weekend together at a spa resort, it was sooooo nice.

Well, talk to everyone later.

Ooooh, a spa weekend does sound nice!

Well, I got my drugs and I'm feeling better. Unfortunately, I let myself get so sick that I needed a small emergency unfill. My band got so tight I was barely keeping down liquids. The good news is I get filled again the first week of January, and I have somehow managed to lose eight pounds! Yay! I really feel like I'm going to make it happen!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
