I am wondering is anyone else is having this problem.I have never been a regualr person when coming to using the bathroom # 2 and since this surg.. i go only about 2 times a week. I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I got very constipated and created a fisser ( if thats how u spell it) And well i am having surg on wednesday for that. SOOOOOOOOOOO ... It hasntbeen the greatest of months and i am not looking forward to that but i have been in so much pain and i am glad i am getting it fixed. So i guess i am asking with not being able to eat a lot and all of that is anyone else having these problems? I try to get my Fiber in and reall do what i can . Just wondering ... thanks

Are you drinking plenty of Water with your fiber...you probably are but just checking. I read that eating fiber without water really causes problems with drying up the old pipes and lots of water and fruit help with this.

I don't have that problem, but I would recommend taking Miralax. (you can get this at your local supermarket or drug store) You mix it w/ Water, and have it everyday. I give that to my son because he has problems going. Because the stool sits too long, it becomes very hard and bulky, making it difficult to come out, and causes bleeding. Good luck!

I had IBS even before my surgery, so as a preventive measure, I take a stool softner every day. Not a laxative, but just softner. My GP said it was fine to do and it seems to work perfect for me.

I hope you're feeling better soon.

I'm pre-surgery but when I took fiber it constipated me and I did drink alot of Water so I feel your pain. Stool softer and I drink warm lemon water in the morning (learned that at Diet Center years ago).

Miralax is highly recommended. My grandma would maybe go once a week before we put her on that. The doc put her on Miralax and she was then going everyday My grandpa calls it "the miracle drug"

I guess it affects us all differently. After banding I had a mild diarrhea for weeks. I am normal now, but volume is greatly reduced, probably because intake is also greatly reduced.

Besides that we should all be going at a minimum once a day; are you drinking plenty of Water and adding a fiber to your diet? Since we can always eat lots of bulk consider one that can be added to yoru water (Kellogg makes a great tasting one that blends easily found in the pharmacy aisle). I hope this helps.

Yes, I have been severly constipated evry since my lapband. I have done accupuncture, Miralax, and a host of other remedies.

My friend is a naturalist and she told me to take these herbs and all is OK now. I take them once a month for a week and they keep me regular.

Wesite is www.herbdoc.com and the product is Formula #1's. They are great. You will go often but not like diarreah or anything.

Good Luck!

I am not banded yet, but very close to it. I had a fissure issue for two years, which my primary care doctor was managing. Hot soaks, Antibiotics, and creams.

Last year, the fissure became so infected and painful, I had to be rushed by ambulance to the hospital, have emergency surgery to drain the fissure, and stayed in the hospital for 5-days on antibiotics. It was terrible! I really do feel for you.

My problem was that I sit a lot. I actually sit all day and have a very long commute. I am extremely heavy and all the weight on my bottom created the fissure. Anyway, I drink lots of Water, eat fiber, and take stretch break to manage the fissure. The doctor would like to go back and seal it. It was so infected last time, that during surgery they could not seal it, until the infection drained out.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
