Sexism Rules!

LOL - Fugly - I've said that a few times!

Leslie - I'm feelin' you on Sean Connery - my mom lusted after him too. That accent! The Sam you are talking about is Sam Elliott - and he's mos def a hottie of the first order! :w00t:

I always loved James Earl Jones - that VOICE...Avery Brooks does it for me too - remember him as Hawk from Spenser for Hire, or perhaps on Star Trek - Deep Space Nine?

Throw Ving Rhames in there too - Mission Impossible, Tombstone, etc...and let's not forget Michael Clarke Duncan from Green Mile and Daredevil (among others).

Now if I can get myself back on track here...attitude definately has a big effect on whether a man is attractive or not (are you listening, Plain? - just kidding). I love men that can make me laugh - my DH is great at that! I also love real gentlemen - the open doors, help you out of the car, pull out your chair for you at the restaurant, walk on the street side of the sidewalk to protect you kind of gentleman.

I tend to like blue-collar, working guys - but he's gotta be able to wear a suit well. No sense in not being able to dress him up and take him places...

The conversation is a big plus - I know guys that are the strong, silent types, but when they do talk - it's with deep sincerity and a gentlemanly courtesy that makes them soooo attractive! I always HATED the "Hey ma, how you doin?" kind of approach...talk to me like you've got some sense, and I'll respond accordingly. Come at me like a thug, and you get no love here!

Ebony - I so agree with you!

DH is one of those silent types. I guess it is hard to get a word in edgewise around me - I'm the talker of the family. He doesn't say much - but when he does talk most people listen. He's got a great voice too.

I love Michael Clarke Duncan's voice. The most memorable role for me was Armageddon for him. I can see his 300+ frame dancing on top of the table - lol

Leslie,

I've become a fan of Quizno's commercials because of that man's voice...

"Mmmm...tasty"...be still my heart!:redface::wub::w00t:

Oh Plain, Plain, Plain...lol...here's how this woman's brain works. Man says comment to another man, clearly knowing a woman can hear it, (in that elbow them in the ribs sly way men do) - Sexist...not that I minded a bit. That was a good run-on sentence! He wasn't talking to me, but about me. It was pretty cool though.

And yes, I did enjoy it :-)....hey and I get coffee all the time. Hmmmm? Something to think about? Now if my broker guys ask me - I tell them they know where the kitchen is. If it is a client - it is just good service.

I'm late in the conversation, but I believe it's a sexist comment too. Simply because, if it was a man in your place, he would not have said that. Thus, it's sexist.

But, I'm like you, I would just take it as a compliment.

Only time sexism pisses me off is when I'm playing poker. I do the WSOP satellites and if I get knocked out-- even if I get knocked out because some MORON was playing like a MORON and got lucky-- they ALL like to call me sweetheart "You played good sweetheart" "Tough break sweetie". Like, patronizing me. I get so mad, I wanna smack em. One day I probably will if it's such a hideous bad beat and someone dares to call me sweetie.

Oh, I hear ya. For me, intelligence and wit is foremost. I have tried, but I cannot be attracted to the airhead Barbie types (well, i mean pre-marriage). But.....even intelligence and wit can't compensate for fugly!! Hahahaha

I'm not familiar with WSOP but I presume that means you're face-to-face? If I were you, the next time one of the sexist jerks gets knocked out, put on your best condescending face and say, "Aww, too bad SWEETIE." You're a Laura too; I'm sure you have a "go to hell" face also!

Can I get an AMEN!?! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
