New to site....Hi Everyone

So, I finally found a place where there are people who know what it is like to take the "Lap Band Leap". I had my band placed on April 18, 08 and have lost 56 pounds. I feel this last month I have finally started seeing results. I have a fill later this morning, and am hoping to get to my sweet spot. I feel I am close, but not quite there yet.

The one thing I am really having a hard time with is...

somedays I can eat 3 small meals a day, not be hungry in between. Others, I struggle with eating anything. It seems everything gets "stuck", and I am miserable. Anyone have days/times of the day when your band seems tighter?

Excited to get to know you all!

I had my 4th fill on 9-15-08 - and for the past 9 days I can barely eat. I have lost 5 lbs (according to my scale) in the past week.

Some days, things go down good, others nothing!! I am struggling to get the proper amount of Protein. The burping, etc. has gotten bad in the past week.

Hello smaki,

welcome and Congratulations!

I was banded July7th and I have lost only 20lbs, I have only had 1 fill, scheduled for 2nd fill Sept 30th.

I can’t wait to find that sweet spot.

Keep in touch,

I have had those up and down days too. Sometimes I am almost afraid to eat for fear it will get stuck. I am having trouble finding the right balance. I seem to have an easier time at night than in the mornimg. I struggle to eat Breakfast, usually don't eat lunch and sometimes no dinner or very little. I have lost 25 lbs. since Sept but I think I am in starvation mode.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
