Anyone tried Zumba?

Recommended Posts

Well, I got the DVD, and it is too advanced for me at this point. Hurts my knees, and ankles. BUT I have it for when I´m ready!

I have tried the videos and done the workouts at a local gym. Honesty, I feel like the videos go too fast and are too advanced and I have done Zumba for almost a year. I love it and I leave there dripping wet too. It also depends on who the instructor is. One of the instructors stops between each song and that drives me nuts! All the other instructors have their music ready to go and we don't have any "wait" time. At our gym they have a Zumba class for beginners two times a week, that might be something you could look into.

But I will give you some of the advice my friend gave me when I first started...she made me promise to do it five times before I made my decision on whether I liked it or not. At first the moves seemed so complicated but after the third time...I was hooked and basically knew all the basic steps.

My SIL teaches Zumba at the Y and she has been begging me to try it. So, I am going to go to her Pilates class tomorrow and will probably try the Zumba right after. If nothing else I'll observe and see if it's something I'm interested in.

Well, I went to Zumba today and it went really well! It was soooo much fun and I caught on very well. It was a good workout because I was very sweaty afterwards. It's definitely something I will continue doing.

Thanks globally!! It was really fun and I am soooooo sore today. I worked muscles I didn't know I had, lol. I plan on doing it again on Friday.

Finally found a Zumba Class. Tonight was my first class. Wow what a workout! Loads of fun! Now, wondering if I will be able to get out of bed tomorrow morning..

I´m about as uncoordinated as can be, and well just smile and move around! When first went, I thought, "hmmm I´m still the biggest girl here, BUT I´m having more fun than anyone!"

Oh WOW!

I tried my first class today and LOVE It. It was so fun and a bit comical.

I have been taking spin classes for 3 weeks now and didnt think this class would work me like spin. Ha! I was wrong. I came out winded and sweaty like spin.

When I lived in TX, there was a class at the gym I went to called Latin fusion. I LOVED it. LOVED. I think it's similar to Zumba, and there was one instructor that I really liked better than the others. I really miss that class and there is not one to be found in my new location. :-(

Glad you guys are having fun with it!

YES!!! LOVE Zumba! It is fun and you feel it the next day. As a matter of fact, I haven't exercised today and I think I'll go to the basement and ZUMBA!

What benefits have you found spin offers since you've been doing it? I have been scared to try it but I want to. I'm concerned about being able to endure 1 hour on that seat and it's intensity. I love ZUMBA, BODY PUMP, BODY JAM, BODY FLOW and AQUA AEROBICS but want to try SPIN as well. I like variety.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
