I am in!

I am in week 2 of Couch to 5K and it just so happens at the 9 week mark there is a 5K out here. I hope I will be able to do it all!

Congrats to all the success here!

Congrats! I am still struggling getting my rear out there. I still manage to go to aerobics and hit the machines at the gym, it's just so hard to get outside to do the run/walk. I LOATHE treadmills!

I hate running on the treadmill too. I just make sure I strap on my shoes and head out the door as soon as I get home from work, I know if I don't there are a million reasons why I "can't" run! I will probably turn to the treadmill as the weather gets worse, can't say that running in 20 degree weather is any fun!

Well the weather has hit the 30s now here so I think I am going to have to just suck it up and get on the treadmill. I just have a feeling that I need to set up a video camera because I will be able to win $10,000 on AFV.

If you won the $10,000 you could buy all new clothes! Oh yeah!

It has been cold off and on lately, I am dreading when it gets down to the 30s and holds, no fun. We have had pretty good weather in the evenings, sitting around the mid-40s so nice to run.

I did my first 20 minute run today, woo hoo! I wasn't sure if I could do it, but it wasn't that hard. I am ready to move to week 6!

I keep thinking if I can hold off on buying new clothes and wear the baggy ones someone will nominate me for "What Not to Wear" and I'll get a $5000 shopping spree.

Congrats on the running! I think I need a trainer to just come yell at me. I keep making excuses why I can't exercise. The annual audit at work is stressing me out.

That would be great to be nominated for "What Not to Wear" I have hinted to my students that would be a nice surprise for their shrinking teacher!

You should run/walk and then you won't feel so stressed. I definitely feel better on the days that I run/walk. I don't want to go, but I put on my shoes and head out the door and I feel soooo much better after I get back to the house!

No excuses, strap on your shoes, get out there and go!

Finished my first 5K today in 39:20! I was pretty stoked, I haven't run that far yet, but I knocked it out and it wasn't that bad!

I was supposed to do my first 25 minute run today, so I did get that in and some more. I am starting week 6 of couch to 5K on Monday. I will keep plugging along.

I am doing a happy dance because I know that 6 mos ago I would have never even considered running in a race! Woo Hoo!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
