I pbed on Sunday .. have already posted about that ... went on for liquids and then mushy food . Have had tea , Water , milk , soft boiled eggs , Tomato Soup with cheese and some rice after that . Have not pbed .. but have this pin and prick sensation in my chest area and also some heart burn .. There is no pain or no discomfort ... can i still be having a slip .. I am very scared and dont know what to do as the doctor I see is also not available .... one more question ... if one has a slip then if a resurgery is required then is it necessary to replace the band also ... please help me ....

When in doubt, call you doctor. It could be that you are still irritated from your PB depending on how bad it was. Considering that you are concerned, by all means call your doctor. It will settle your mind if it is nothing, and it will give you an opportunity to fix the problem if there is one.

If you can keep down liquids and soft foods, you most likely do not have a slipped band. Your doctor should have someone available for emergencies. Call him/her.

I've PB'd a hundred times and my band is quite healthy. I'm sure you're absolutely fine.

FYI, boiled eggs (or eggs in any form) and rice cause many people problems. Keep this in mind as you get your fills.

I always pb on rice once I hit my sweet spot. It clumps too much. This makes me a little sad because I miss sushi, lol. Oh well . . . that's banded life for ya. My worst day banded still beats my best day heavy hands down.

A really rough pb will make me sore and uncomfortable for a couple of days. The most important thing is to not pb again on top of it. It doesn't sound like a slip to me either if you can get things down, but I am not a doctor by any means.

However, I have learned the hard way that if you are not feeling comfortable, you need to go back to liquids/mushies until you feel decent again . . . otherwise your stomach irritation can just get worse and lead to more pb's and discomfort, sometimes to the point of needing an unfill to get back on track again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
